Once your dental implants are in position, you will feel as though they are natural teeth. These faux teeth really do look and work just like normal teeth. Though there is some discomfort and swelling caused by the incision necessary to insert dental implants, it is minor and temporary.

Dental implants are titanium screws. These screws connect to the jaw bone in a process known as osseointegration. This process takes upwards of six months to complete. The bone by the implant fuses to the screw so it is held firmly in position. The abutment is then connected to the screw’s top. The top section of the abutment connects to a crown or a denture. The end result is a fake tooth that looks just like a normal tooth. Just as important is the fact that your fake tooth can also chew through food similar to a normal tooth.
